## $COOK Airdrop

### Overview

We are excited to announce the upcoming $COOK airdrop, designed to reward and engage our community members. $COOK is the governance token of the COOK DAO, the decentralized organization that oversees the operations of the [start.cooking](https://start.cooking) platform. This airdrop will allow eligible participants to claim their $COOK tokens and either utilize them immediately or stake them for additional rewards.

### Eligibility Criteria

The $COOK airdrop is available to participants who meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

1. **Cookdrop Participants:**\
   This category includes all individuals who participated in the Cookdrop, a subscription-based airdrop initiative for specific communities. Details about the Cookdrop can be found on the dedicated page [here](https://docs.start.cooking/usdcook/airdrops/cookdrop).
2. **Cookiedrop Recipients:**\
   This category rewards active users of the start.cooking platform through our Cookiedrop program. Active users who have demonstrated engagement with the platform are eligible to claim their $COOK tokens you can read more about it [here](https://docs.start.cooking/usdcook/airdrops/cookiedrop-competition).

### Claiming Process

The $COOK airdrop will be available for claiming starting from **1st September at 14:00 UTC** and will remain open until **1st October at 14:00 UTC**.

Participants can claim their tokens by following these steps:

1. **Check Eligibility:**\
   Connect your wallet to [start.cooking](https://start.cooking) to verify your eligibility for the airdrop.
2. **Claim or Stake:**\
   Once eligibility is confirmed, participants have the option to either:
   * **Claim** their $COOK tokens directly to their wallet.
   * **Claim and Stake** their $COOK tokens on the start.cooking platform to earn possible additional rewards later.

### Unclaimed Tokens

Any $COOK tokens that remain unclaimed by the end of the claiming period (1st October at 14:00 UTC) will be transferred to the COOK DAO. These unclaimed tokens will be utilized by the DAO to further the development and growth of the start.cooking platform and its community.
